For funsies, I enumerated the items I found in the bathroom drawers. When I got to a dozen, it wasn’t fun anymore. I store the extras of the items that are on the counter in these drawers. Similar to the pantry, I had too many extras that needed culling. Because I know I’ll eventually get around to using the toothpaste, the dental floss, the body cream and shampoo etc., it’s not as easy to death clean as the pantry was. I can easily ditch the extra emptied bottles that have been collecting dust. Ridding the drawers of the other items (bubble bath, mouthwash, deodorant) was such a challenge that I decided to skip it!
However I WILL not add more to the drawers before finishing what is currently there. The hand soap refill, the extra bars of soap, the cleaning supplies, the Costco pack of toilet paper will have to dwindle down to zero before I replace them.
It’s these knick knacks that my Mourners absolutely do not want to wade through! I can imagine them shaking their heads while throwing out the unused cotton balls and Qtips. I’ll spare them sorting through the nail polish and remover, the old, dog-chewed mascara, the spare change that I threw into this bathroom junk drawer.
